In a White House ceremony, President George W. Bush unveiled the new website, www.LibertyUnites.org, which connects individuals who want to give with organizations that are providing services and support to those affected by the September 11 terrorist attacks. Visitors to the site can make a financial contribution or find out where to go to take a CPR course, find a counselor, locate a local congregation, or other ways to help. Since the site's launch, over $91 million has been raised through online contributions.

Americans for the Arts

Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance
During this time of great tragedy and loss, many individuals and organizations have demonstrated their support by making contributions to organizations assisting in the relief efforts. One would find it difficult to believe that people would be willing to mislead and take advantage of the generosity of others in the wake of such a tragedy. The Better Business Bureau has issued information cautioning donors on appeals for victims. (PDF)

INDEPENDENT SECTOR urges donors to be informed by offering tips on giving wisely. (PDF)
