Virginia A. Hodgkinson Research Prize

Independent Sector is pleased to announce its partnership with the Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action to present the Virginia A. Hodgkinson Research Prize. The prize is given annually in recognition of a book that informs nonprofit policy and practice. ARNOVA will select the honoree and present the award at its Annual Conference in November with the cooperation of Independent Sector.

Recipients of the Hodgkinson Research Prize are researchers and practitioners who work in or with the nonprofit sector and through their work have achieved local, regional, national, or international impact. Francie Ostrower of the Urban Institute Center on Nonprofits and Philanthropy was honored at the 2006 Independent Sector Annual Conference in Minneapolis/St. Paul for her work entitled Attitudes and Practices Concerning Effective Philanthropy.
