Sample Letter Urging Congress to Pass H.R. 7, The Charitable Giving Act

I am writing to urge you to support H.R. 7, the Charitable Giving Act, when it comes to the floor of
the House in the next few weeks. At a time when many of our nation’s charities are struggling to
meet increased service demands with diminished resources, this bill provides a number of
much-needed incentives to increase charitable giving in the United States.

The Charitable Giving Act will provide recognition and encouragement to the millions of Americans

Americans from making charitable gifts from the additional resources in their individual retirement
accounts.
