Take Action --
Health Care Reform with Incentives for Small Employers

Contact your Senators and Representatives and urge them to pass health care reform legislation that expands coverage, removes barriers to access, controls costs, and similar to those offered to small businesses to help nonprofit employers provide health coverage to their employees. We have provided a sample letter for your convenience. Tell them:

Talking Points

  • Congress must pass comprehensive health care reform that expands coverage, removes barriers to access, controls costs, and provides equivalent access and incentives to help nonprofit employers provide health care for their employees.
  • Nonprofit employers face the same escalating health insurance costs as small for-profit employers and they need help to make sure that their nearly 14 million employees have access to affordable health insurance.
  • While the House-passed health care bill includes provisions to help small for-profit businesses, it does not extend all of those reform benefits to nonprofit employees.
  • The health care bill passed by the Senate includes a provision that ensures that nonprofit employers can utilize tax credits to help purchase health insurance, and I urge you to support this critical provision in the final bill.
  • Ask your Senators and Representative how they plan to vote on health care reform legislation.
