The 2011 Public Policy Action Institute took place in Chicago on Saturday, October 29 and Sunday, October 30 – just prior to the Independent Sector Annual Conference.
More than 150 nonprofit leaders, policy advocates, and communications specialists came together at Independent Sector’s 2011 Public Policy Action Institute in Chicago, Illinois. The eight annual Institute coupled high-level discussions on the policy issues facing our communities with on-the-ground strategies to advance the advocacy capacity of the sector. As one participant
wrote, “The content of the sessions was really excellent and timely, and allowed me to add to my ’tool kit‘ to take back home.”
Taking advantage of the “inspiring and passionate participants" (as one attendee described), the 2011 PPAI featured more interactive session formats and networking opportunities during, the Institute, as well as the opportunity for PPAI participants to continue the conversation on the Hub, the IS annual conference networking platform.
The Institute was an opportunity for a diverse group of participants to come together to discuss the policy challenges and opportunities our sector faces as we work to serve our communities. Participants worked together to develop strategies for the sector in the coming year, coming away with renewed energy and purpose. "I can’t believe how much I learned – my head is still spinning," one participant raved.
Thank you to everyone who came and participated! We hope to see you in San Francisco for the ninth annual Institute.
