IS is pleased to have hosted two International Peer Learning Events of civil society umbrella organizations, which have allowed us to initiate connections with 16 counterpart organizations around the world. 

In December 2007, representatives from NGO convening organizations in Canada, China, Estonia, Ghana, Japan, Mexico, Nepal, Nigeria and Scotland gathered at the IS offices in Washington DC to discuss various issues, challenges, and strategies related to collaboration with their respective members, government officials, and media. 

In September 2008, IS hosted a second cohort of senior managers – this time from Australia, Cambodia, China, England, India, Israel, Philippines and Zimbabwe – to share tools, strategies and resources for strengthening accountability and cooperation within the nonprofit sector.
