1. Are there any exceptions to the nomination deadline?
In order to ensure equal opportunity for all nominees, we will enforce a strict deadline for the nomination form. We will accept nominations until 11:59pm Eastern Time on the deadline date and no extensions will be granted.
2. Will my nominee know I nominated them?
Nominators will be contacted regarding the status of your nominee in late-June. Beyond the five finalists, Independent Sector will not contact any nominees.
3. What if my nominee isn't chosen as a finalist this year-- can they be reconsidered in future years?
If your nominee is not chosen as a finalist this year, we encourage you to re-nominate them again next year, as long as they are still age 40 or under.
4. Is there monetary compensation associated with this award?
Yes. The recipient will receive a $3,000 leadership scholarship to further nurture their leadership skills as well as complimentary registration for, travel to, and accommodations to the 2012 IS Annual Conference and NGen pre-conference programming.
5. Are there any restrictions on who can be nominated?
Yes, the nominee:
- Cannot currently serve on the Independent Sector Board of Directors, but can serve on an IS committee;
- Must currently be employed by a U.S.-based nonprofit or non-governmental organization;
- Must be age 40 or under at the time of receiving the award;
- Must be available to participate in the virtual Leadership Forum in July; and
- Must be present at the award ceremony, which takes will be held at Independent Sector's National Conference in New York City, October 1, 2013.
6. Is the electronic nomination form all I have to submit?
Yes, your nomination is complete once you have completed and submitted the three nominations questions. Once submitted, you will receive an email confirming successful submission.
7. Are only individuals eligible for this award? Can I nominate a group or an organization?
This award seeks to recognize one individual leader. Pairs, teams or organizations are not eligible for the award.
8. Can I apply for both the NGen Fellows and NGen Award?
We recommend you apply for the one recogition which best captures your attributes as a leader.
