| Mission &
Market |
| In a marketplace of proliferating brands and
products, corporations are constantly seeking
innovative ways to differentiate their products and
services in sustainable ways. And in a time of ever
greater societal needs, nonprofit organizations are
looking for new sources of revenue, enhanced
visibility, expertise, and creative ways to promote
their messages and advance their missions. As a
result, there is a growing trend of companies and
nonprofits creating a variety of partnerships that
advance both the mission of the nonprofit
organization and the business purpose of the
company. Independent
Sector's new project,
Mission
& Market: The Resource Center for Effective
Corporate-Nonprofit Partnerships, will offer a wide
variety of resources nonprofit and corporate
executives need to help them build effective
partnerships that enhance both mission and business
goals—and serve to build the public trust for the
nonprofit sector as a whole. |

| Sample Policies &
Guidelines |
| The first phase of this resource center is
a collection of sample policies and
guidelines from some leaders in the
nonprofit sector. Each one of the following
examples offers insight into the myriad
issues that should be addressed when
reviewing opportunities and issues presented
by corporate-nonprofit partnerships. We
thank each contributor for their permission
to reprint their guidelines and invite other
contributions of policies and
guidelines.
