The Community Endeavors Foundation continues to support social and health service projects aimed at promoting healthy responsible fathering, providing for emotional and financial needs of a family; facilitating effective co-parenting relationships between parents, both wed and unwed; supporting responsible nurturing parenting by fathers beginning in pregnancy, through birth, and continuing throughout adolescence.

Council of New Jersey Grantmakers, Trenton, NJ. The Council of New Jersey Grantmakers exists to strengthen and promote effective philanthropy throughout New Jersey.

Philadelphia’s Young Nonprofit Leaders, Philadelphia, PA. Philadelphia’s Young Nonprofit Leaders’ mission is to strengthen the nonprofit sector by expanding the knowledge, skill, and network of its members through programs that are relevant and accessible.

The Chicago Community Trust has launched The 2008 Chicago Community Trust Fellowship Program, which is designed to elevate the careers of local leaders in the nonprofit community and increase their future impact on the Chicago metropolitan area by investing in their professional development. The application deadline for the fellowship is July 31, 2008.

The Aspen Institute Releases New Report on Social Sector Policy Innovations
The Aspen Institute released a new report highlighting promising policy innovations for the nation’s social sector. Mobilizing Change: 10 Nonprofit Policy Proposals to Strengthen U.S. Communities draws on leading thinkers in the philanthropic community who are working to improve the lives of those in need through improved nonprofit-government polices. The report summarizes each proposal and explains how it would work, who would be affected, and the action required to make it happen.

Carnegie Corporation of New York appointed Omotade Akin Aina to be program director for higher education in Africa.

Marguerite Casey Foundation appointed Stephen Sage to be chief financial officer.
