3rd e-Philanthropy Conference
March 4-5, 2002
Hilton McLean Tysons Corner

The Power of the Internet to Expand
Giving, Volunteering, and Community Building

About the e-Philanthropy Conference

Building upon the two previous e-philanthropy conferences, the 3rd e-Philanthropy Conference, March 4-5, 2002 explored the strategic issues and promising practices of the Internet to increase various forms of civic engagement—giving, volunteering, and community building.

The 3rd e-Philanthropy Conference was designed to help identify strategic issues and policies that will encourage greater use of the Internet for philanthropy. Organizations had the opportunity to share lessons learned from using their websites to respond to the September 11 terrorist attacks. One of the underlying questions throughout the conference was, "How can we help sustain the use of the Internet for philanthropy?"

A Snapshot of Internet Innovation: Using e-Philanthropy to Expand Volunteering, Giving and Community Building
