Staff Changes
Jamie Fitzsimons joined Independent Sector in April 2013 as the Director of Membership with the Networks and Member Engagement team. Jamie comes to us with over 10+ years of nonprofit experience. She managed the recruitment and retention programs for corporate members at the American Bankers Association and America’s Community Bankers. Most recently, Jamie has been a Senior Business Development Specialist at Venable LLP. Jamie holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from the University of Maryland.
Sarah Perz joined Independent Sector in April 2013 as the Senior Government
Relations Representative on the Public Policy team. Sarah comes to IS
with over a decade of government affairs experience. In her most recent
post, Sarah was the Government Affairs Manager for G2G Consulting where
she helped her clients develop and implement federal government
relations strategy. Prior to that, she worked in the offices of
Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur and former Congressman Paul Kanjorski. Sarah
graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Toledo.
Jamie Tucker left Independent Sector in April 2013 to pursue other opportunities in advance of beginning law school in the fall. Jamie served as part of the public policy team for more than five years. During his time at IS, Jamie helped shape IS legislative strategy, represented IS in meetings with key congressional offices, and contributed to the development of talking points and other materials for external IS meetings. Jamie demonstrated tremendous integrity, professionalism, and dedication to our members.
