A CEO's Perspective

Annual Conference , Leadership Add comments

Chaudhry

Muhammed Chaudhry, president and CEO of the Silicon Valley Education Foundation in San Jose, California recently shared his experience attending the CEO Track at the 2010 IS Annual Conference in Atlanta.

Chaudhry on attending the IS CEO Track:
The IS conference, and more specifically the CEO Track, is the one event I make time to go to every year because I get so much value out of it.  I like the energy in the room and the great ideas that come out of it, and I enjoy connecting and collaborating with a lot of very smart, high-level people who are making an impact. You really feel the power of networking with all kinds of organizations, big and small, with different missions. The opportunities to make connections are awesome, especially with other education non-profits that are similar in mission to my organization, to compare notes and get new ideas.

Last year, I especially enjoyed hearing Alberto Ibarguen (president and CEO of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation) speak about how to lead during various stages of the economy, and how to drive high growth for non-profits.

Chaudhry on the value of attending the IS Conference
The conference challenges you to think differently about the impact your nonprofit is making today, and to determine how to grow and in what direction to drive your organization in the future.

What I took away helped me better assess my leadership and apply renewed thinking to my organization's strategy in broadening donor base, using new marketing approaches and further tapping into the power of social media.

Don't miss this year's CEO Track.
