Independent Sector is strongly committed to diversity and inclusiveness as key components ensuring that our Annual Conference offers participants rich and meaningful discourse. We also recognize that this year continues to be challenging to the nonprofit community.
Therefore, in partnership with the Walmart Foundation, we are pleased to offer a limited number of NGen and general conference scholarships to our 2012 Annual Conference in San Francisco.
The Independent Sector Scholarship program targets leaders of small and medium-sized nonprofits who represent and work with underrepresented groups (especially African-Americans, Hispanics, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, Native Americans, LGBTQ, and people with disabilities). Eligible participants are talented and innovative leaders and professionals at small and medium sized nonprofit organizations with an annual budget of less than $5 million. Scholarships will be awarded to organizations whose budget exceeds $5 million with a clear explanation of need.
Scholarship support will allow recipients to attend the following*:
*Walmart Foundation requires its recipients to attend the NGen pre-conference program, with an option to also attend the general conference. Travel and hotel will not be covered for local recipients.
