September 11, 2001—The Response

America's Tragedy: The People and Organizations of the Nonprofit Community Mobilize to Offer Assistance and Comfort

INDEPENDENT SECTOR joins Americans and people of goodwill everywhere in expressing its deep sorrow to the family and friends of victims of the horrific attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001. In the face of these tragic acts of terror, vast numbers of our nation's citizens are demonstrating their compassion, generosity, and humanity. 

Scores of INDEPENDENT SECTOR members and other organizations across the country have been mobilizing emergency assistance and offering comfort.
