Factors That Influence People to Give and Volunteer

Since 1988, each survey has identified a host of reasons about how and why people get involved in contributing money and volunteering time to charitable causes. Questions were designed to delve into respondentsí motives and attitudes to identify external factors that affect giving and volunteering.

In all the survey years, approximately the same percentage of people reported three different ways of learning about their volunteering activities:
