Travel Information

Airport
The Marriott Renaissance Center Hotel is located approximately 21 miles from the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport.

Alert: Ground Transportation Changes
Because of a dispute between the Airport Authority and the Taxicab Association, currently cabs are not standing at the airport. It is possible to take a taxi, but you must call ahead, and there will likely be an additional fee.

There are a number of companies that provide sedan or van service to downtown Detroit; again, you must call ahead to arrange a ride. The Detroit Convention and Visitors Bureau recommends these services:

* Crown Limousine: 313-864-3651 or www.crownlimousine4u.com
* People’s Transit: 734-467-7000 or www.peoplestransit.com

IS has been working with the following company:

* J & B Transportation: 888-335-8726 or www.jandbtran.com

Railroad
We have partnered with Amtrak to offer special conference fares for attendees travelling throughout the Great Lakes region. Amtrak's Michigan Services trains provide several convenient options for attendees from the Greater Michigan area travelling to the conference. Participants of the 2009 IS/CMF Annual Conference will receive 10% savings off the lowest available rail fare to Detroit between November 1 and 9. To make your reservations, call Amtrak at 800-872-7245 and mention Fare Code X23W-957. Conference rates are not available over the Internet. For more information on Amtrak's Michigan Services trains, visit www.amtrak.com.
