IMAGINE we live in a just and inclusive society — a healthy democracy of active citizens, effective institutions, and vibrant communities. That’s the vision of Independent Sector.

More than 1,200 nonprofit and philanthropic leaders joined Independent Sector's 2014 National Conference in Seattle, to imagine a different world and harness the spirit, creativity, and innovation of the Pacific Northwest. Participants inspired new ideas, examined ways to achieve greater impact, strengthened the charitable community by sharing our struggles and solutions, and built opportunity for new collaborations that improve the lives of the people we serve.

Our 2014 Premier Partner, Philanthropy Northwest, and dozens of our other partners and members of our committees, joined to present more than 30 sessions targeted to interests across the sector.

“It’s hard to put into words how much I appreciated the opportunity I have had to attend the IS conference and NGen Pre-Conference. It was truly an amazing experience from start to finish, and I left inspired and motivated to take action to improve the impact, accountability and effectiveness of both my organization and my role in it.”
– Andrée Herbert, Tennessee Aquarium
