Couples Therapy: Elements of Great Foundation/Grantee Relationships
Foundations often critique nonprofits for not being focused enough on assessing and improving their impact. Nonprofits complain that funders aren’t clear about their own goals and strategies – and make time-consuming requests for data and information that distract them from mission. This session will tap into the research of the Center for Effective Philanthropy to explore how leaders of foundations and nonprofits can generate more meaningful impact. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from exemplary foundation and grantee leaders and to share what works – and what doesn’t – in these relationships.

Kelvin Taketa, president and CEO, Hawai'i Community Foundation
