The 12 under-40 nonprofit professionals who comprise the inaugural cohort of the American Express NGen Fellows brought tremendous experience to their group project, which examined how emerging leaders across sectors can contribute to a conversation that generates collaborative solutions to society’s most pressing problems.
Their final report is based on a survey distributed to more than 2,000 NGeners in the nonprofit, government, and private sectors. It asked about their perspectives on leadership development, on cross-sector collaboration, and on how to respond to major challenges facing our communities. Download a copy now.
The findings suggest that more opportunities for leadership training and for engagement across sectors can produce more powerful solutions to these needs. The fellows' analysis and recommendations are not final conclusions, but instead provide an important springboard for further discussions about what leadership and collaboration really mean for NGen leaders and our communities.
To continue those exchanges, Independent Sector hosted a webinar with the fellows on Thursday, August 19 to probe these findings and discuss how we can collectively accelerate progress towards advancing the common good. Contribute to this discussion on the NGen Forum.
